Chicken a la King with Rice

Dish Review

This is a definitely tasty take on the classic chicken a la queen that may be foolproof and quick and easy to make.

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cooking time: 20 mins

Ingredients

Will serve: 4 men and women

  • 1 - Celery
    thinly sliced up
  • 125 ml Refreshing Lotion
  • 350 ml Whole milk
  • 110 g Mushrooms
    sliced
  • 60 g Plain Flour
  • 1 - Reddish Pepper
    diced
  • 60 g SuperValu Butter
  • 1 tbsp SuperValu Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 - SuperValu Onion
    well sliced up
  • 300 g SuperValu Good quality Irish Fowl Fillets
    lower into really slim pieces
  • 400 g SuperValu Rice
  • - SuperValu Whole Dark Peppercorns

Strategy

  1. Make the rice depending on the packet directions.
  2. Location your pan over a average heating and include a tablespoon of olive oil.
  3. Add the poultry strips and cook for a min or 2 till completely covered.
  4. Add the sliced onion and fry for the additional 2 minutes.
  5. After that add the pepper, celery and fresh mushrooms and fry for a more 2 to 3 moments.
  6. Progressively include the flour, stirring constantly for about 2 moments.
  7. Start incorporating the whole milk mixing at all times until you have a great sleek feel inside the sauce.
  8. Put the lotion and mix before the mixture is very hot (not boiling hot), then reduce the heat to very low and simmer for 5 moments, mixing sometimes.
  9. To provide, put the rice in the plate and best together with the delightful, foamy, chicken breast marinade.

Hi there Sue, please see below for a fat-free version of Chicken a los angeles Queen:


  • 10 oz/300g Chicken breast Fillets – reduce into very slim strips
  • 1 ounce /30g butter (decreased butter amount)
  • 1 ounce/30g flour (decreased flour number)
  • 1 onion finely sliced
  • 4 oz/110g button fresh mushrooms quartered
  • 1 red pepper diced
  • 1 stalk celery thinly sliced
  • Sodium and pepper to style
  • 14 fl oz/400ml low fat dairy (improve dairy quantity, omit skin cream)
  • 1 tbsp Organic Olive Oil
  • 14 ounce/400g Long grain rice

Method
Cook the rice depending on load up guidelines.

Position your pan with a average warmth and include a tablespoon of organic olive oil.

Put the poultry and make for any minute or two until entirely enclosed.

Put the sliced up onion and fry for any further second to 2.

After that include the pepper, celery and fresh mushrooms and fry for a more 2 – 3 minutes or so.

Gradually include the flour, stirring consistently for about 2 minutes or so.

Begin including the milk products mixing constantly until you have a nice easy feel in the marinade.

To provide, put the rice about the dish and dump across the chicken breast marinade, dust with a bit of recently cut parsley if wanted.
